About us
The vision….
We’re building Brimscombe Sauna to be a simple, welcoming space where people can slow down, connect, and feel better in themselves. It’s not about luxury it’s about community, health, and connection.
The sauna will run from Brimscombe Mill, open five days a week, with one or two pay-as-you-can sessions each day so cost is never a barrier. We want this to be a place where anyone can step in for a sauna, a cold dip, or just time with others and leave feeling reset.
Beyond individual wellbeing, our aim is to create real social impact. We’ll work with local health providers to develop social prescribing routes, so people dealing with stress, isolation, or long-term health conditions can be referred to the sauna as part of their care. We’ve also registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) to ensure the sauna is run for the people, not just for profit.
At its heart, Brimscombe Sauna will be a space where you can leave the hecticness of daily life at the door, recover, reconnect, and walk away feeling revitalised.
The space
We’ve secured a beautiful spot at Brimscombe Mill, with the stream running alongside and flowing into the mill pond. The sauna itself, seating 10–12 people, will look out over the water. Two ice baths will sit above the stream, with space for changing, relaxing, and showering nearby..
Get involved
Over the coming weeks we’ll share updates through our newsletter and social media, stories about the power of sauna, and ways to get involved.
About me
My names Milo and this all started when I spent a season in Japan, I got hooked on the onsen culture. After skiing all day, we’d head to these natural hot baths where everyone old, young, locals, tourists would sit together. No distractions, no rush, just a simple ritual of slowing down. It left a big impression on me.
Coming back home, I wanted to bring a piece of that with me. Not to copy Japan, but to create something here that gives people the same sense of recovery, connection, and pause.
Brimscombe Mill already has so much good going on, projects that are making a real difference in people’s lives. I see the sauna as adding to that. A place that gives back to the community, creates space for people to reset, and hopefully becomes part of the wider social impact that’s happening here.
For me, it’s about building something that strengthens the community and brings people together.
